As the founder of Wearable Tech Ventures (501c3), she is leading the charge to support 100 wearable startups by 2030 led by underrepresented founders. She highlights founders and innovations as host of the Wearable Takeover podcast. In July 2022, Wearable Tech Ventures hosted the world largest and most inclusive wearables focused hackathon.

Her trailblazing career is marked with historical firsts in Corporate America as a National and Regional Account Manager for Fortune 500 companies; in Tech while raising a fund for underrepresented tech founders; in Innovation curating design thinking and executive leadership growth experiences; and in academia as a Business Professor.
Her personal vow to ensure she is never the last to contribute to history has influenced her work as visionary and President of the global wearable tech ecosystem, Wearable Tech Ventures; contributor and investor for the Upsurge Baltimore Equitech Ecosystem; and Innovation influencer.
In addition to frequently speaking at corporate and tech events, LaKisha has been honored as Innovator of the Year, Start Up Mentor of the Year, Maryland Leading Women honoree, 3x SXSW Speaker and twice as a 40 under 40 Leader.
After years of leading Innovation efforts for corporations and the Federal Government, she earned a Design Thinking certification from MIT in 2021. This accolade compliments her B.S. in Economics from The Ohio State University, MBA from University of Maryland College Park, and MS Marketing education at Johns Hopkins University.

Innovation is the act of turning ideas into practical reality despite your fears and challenges. Visit her to find out how she can empower you to activate your ingenious nature and transform your workplace with Design Thinking workshops.
